
BioSymposium on Pulmonary Disease Spotlights Colorado Research
Renowned experts to convene at Anschutz Medical Campus
AURORA, Col. (Sept. 1, 2009) – Renowned medical researchers from the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) School of Medicine and National Jewish Health who have placed Colorado in the forefront of research into pulmonary diseases will participate as speakers and panelists in a special one-day BioSymposium on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
Hosted by the UCD School of Medicine, Forest City Fitzsimons, Fitzsimons BioBusiness Partners and the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority, the symposium will provide discussions of airway diseases, lung cancer, and vascularization, as well as hypertension, interstitial disease and pulmonary fibrosis. Speakers and panelists will also address related topics such as research funding and commercialization.
The keynote speaker for the BioSymposium will be Eric Olson, PhD, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Molecular Biology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The topic of Dr. Olson’s remarks will be The Treatment of Pulmonary Artery Hypertension.

The BioSymposium will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Research Complex 2 Room 2100 – the Trivisible Room - at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
